What private events can we book with the artist's corner?
We will help host any party or special event! Events can be held at your home or at the location of your choosing. These events are typically 90 minutes and require a minimum of 10 attendees. Please use the contact form for additional questions or to book your event!
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT SNOWS OR THERE IS OTHER INCLEMENT WEATHER?
We operate on the same weather schedule as the schools, or with discretion. If schools are closed, dismiss early, or cancel after school activities, we will be canceled as well. Any information about canceled classes will be received by email at least 2 hours prior to the start of class. Each session has a built in make-up class and we will reschedule as necessary.
What kind of projects do you do?
Anything! We like to do a variety of projects and mediums with each new group. We may use: water color pencils, clay, collage techniques, colored pencils to shade detailed drawing work, oil pastels, paint or many other possibilities. We start with a loose curriculum but as we meet the students and gauge their interests and abilities, we often change the plan in order to make the class more enjoyable for those enrolled. No two weeks will involve the same technique or artist, however, we may repeat supplies.
How many STUDENTS will there be in class?
All public classes, camps, and events are capped at 12 in order to give each student a meaningful and individualized experience. There may be fewer students, however, classes will not exceed 15. Private events can have more students, as they are filled at the parent's discretion.
How do you handle the age range of your classes?
It is important to understand that a child's ability, maturity, or passion for art is not determined by age. Our program is inclusive of all elementary age students (unless it is otherwise stated). Students of all ages work very well together, often learning from one another. Older students love helping the younger students and younger students love working with our older students, often teaching them in return. You can see from our photos that students of all ages are working cohesively and creating brilliant art, despite the age range. Please know that we work very hard to provide an individualized experience to each student who attends. We keep our classes small in order to ensure enough time to meet each child's level while also nudging them to explore beyond their individual scope.
